ALL POSSIBLE CONCESSIONS.

OFFERED BY ABYSSINIA.

PROVING ITALIAN AGGRESSION.

DEFENCE OF INDEPENDENCE,

(Received) This Day, 12.2.5 p.m.) LONDON, September 22.

The Addis Ababa correspondent of “The Times” says that the Emperor Haele Selassie said that Ethiopia had offered all possible concessions. If war broke out Abyssinia would retire sufficiently to show any of those who doubted it that Italy was the aggressor, but after that she would defend her independence by force. She would also make a further appeal to the League, based on the Covenant. Whether Abyssinia would accept a peace truce while Italy: occupied Ethiopian territory was too hypothetical to discuss, but a peace granting Italy part of Abyssinia would be a breach of Article 10 "of the Covenant, guaranteeing members territorial integrity which the League could not entertain. The Emperor added that a breakdown of the negotiations would affect the whole continent of Africa .—“Tire Times” cables.
