✓Per Press Association)
WELLINGTON, September 18. In the House of Representatives, Mr 0. H. Clinkard (0., Rotorua) asked the Minister of Transport lie would arrange to have a thorough inquiry made into the working oi. the Transport Act, as much dissatisfaction was felt regarding administration ? The Rt. Hon. J. C. Coates replied that the introduction of legislation during the current session to simplify the procedure and reduce expense, is contemplated. Goods services liadi been subject to control under the Act ioi only, two years, and the present position of those services is much the same as was that of passenger services after the same period of control in that there were numerous appeals against the decisions of the licensing authorities. The passenger-services had now been more or less stabilised and consequently there was little trouble at the re-licensing of these services, and it was anticipated that the same will apply to goods services in futuie.
