TOKIO, July 30
Realising that the epidemic of spy inquiries is creating a harmful impression with foreign visitors, the Government is conferring with the Customs, gendarmerie, and the police in an effort to devise means of simplifying annoying procedures, especially the endless repetition of tedious questionings, microscopic examination for books on Communism, and persecution for innocent photography of fortified zones.
