FAT EWES ARE FIRMER TO-DAY.

EASING TENDENCY IN WETHERS

With a fair -yarding at the Tinwald saleyards to-day for the weekly stock market, fat ewes sold well and prices in this section showed an advance of from Is to Is 6d a head, compared with rates at Ashburton last week. The fat wether pens were well filled but prices for this class had an easing tendency. Fat ewes made up to 20s lOd, Mr P. H. Read (Eiffelton) selling eight very prime sheep at this figure. Mrs Bell (Ealing) was also a successful vendor, making sales of three at 19s 7d and 19s Id. Farrell’s Estate (Hinds) topped the wether market with eight at 23s lOd and five at 23s 7d. Mr R. J. Tarbotton (Tinwald) also sold five at 23s Ri’ices up to noon were as follow: Fat ewes —On account of W. N.
