LEESDS TO SPEND £14, 500, COOHUGE BLOCK OF FLATS FIRST. (United Press Association —copyright). LONDON, July 19. The Leeds City Council has in hand a vast scheme for rehousing city dwellers, and work will shortly begin on the construction of a big block of 940 flats, to be completed in twenty months. This is only a small part of the whole scheme which, at a cost of £14,500,000, aims at rehousing 30,000 families within six and a-lialf years. A system of consti uction adopted Tn Pans is being introduced, concrete blocks made on the site being used throughout.—British Official Wireless.
