BLACKMAILER IN AMERICA. ARREST OF A MARRIED MAN. (United Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, July 12. Agents of the Justice Department announced to-day the arrest of Alfred Wagner, aged 38, a family man living on Government relief. He is charged witli attempting to extort. 46,000 dollars from relatives of victims of kidnappers, including those concerned, in the recent kidnapping of George Weyerhaemser and Mrs Berry Stoll. It is alleged that Wagner would communicate with tjhe families, demanding large sums on a threat of death, although in no case had he anything to do with the actual crimes. In many instances, however, the victims took the communications seriously, and often deposited money in hiding places, as directed 1 by Wagner. The agents watched the places and lie never collected a single dollar of the large sums asked.
