INTERVENTION BY POLICE. REFEREE ORDERED TO AWARD A FALL, DUNEDIN, June 17. The professional wrestling contest this evening between Hardy Kruskamp (15.2) and Cy Williams (16.5) came to an unexpected end, the police refusing to allow the bout to continue, after Williams had been awarded the decision on a foul. The bout was fast and clean to the third round, when the Superintendent of Police (Mr D. Eraser) instructed the referee to award a penalty fall against Williams for twice throwing Kruskamp through the ropes. This started trouble. As soon as Kruskamp entered the ring he slammed to the canvas and delivered half a dozen vicious flying kicks. The .referee tried to pull him off, but Kruskamp threw him across the ring, and the referee disqualified him and gave the bout to Williairis. BLOMFiELD BEATS NARBARES. AUCKLAND, June 17. In a lively bout at the Town Hall, L. Blomfield, the New Zealand heavyweight wrestler, defeated L. Narbares, the American, by two falls to one, the match ending early in the sixth round. A large attendance of spectators was thoroughly entertained by the wrest- 1 lers, who worked hard for the greater part of the time and revealed a wide variety of holds. Narbares secured the hist fall in the third round by submission, after punishing his opponent with a series, of powerfvil short-arm scissors. Blomfield evened in the fifth round, gaining a submission fall with a Boston crab, and he secured the deciding fall in the sixth with the same hold. KRUSKAMP v. WADE. i i Glenn Wade, of Nebraska, and Hardy Kruskamp. of California, will stage a bout at His Majesty's Theatre on Thursday evening. The newcomer. Wade, stands sft 9in and weighs lost 111 b. Though" taller at sft llin, Kruskamp is the lighter and probably the faster wrestler. In Wade he will meet a. redoubtable opponent. A pupil of the famous John Peselc, the Nebraskan has victories to his credit over such well-known wrestlers as John Kolonos, Ted Thye, Ad. Santel, Dan Kolcff, Dean l)ett*n and Hal llumberg. He has already met Kruskamp at Wellington, in what was described 1 as the best and most scientific match seen in that centre for years. In that bout Kruskamp was forced to retire incapacitated. The match will be of eight 10-minute rounds, prior to which such well-known amateurs as C. V. Voice and Percy Chew Lee (the popular Chinese racing cyclist), of Christchurch, and the best of the local boys
will be seen in action. Patrons are advised to avoid disappointment by purchasing their tickets at McElhinney's, East Street, where tickets and reserves are now available.
