MINIATURE RIFLES.
CLUB FORMED AT STAVELEY. There was an attendance of 20, over which Mr W. Norman (convener) presided, at a meeting on Friday evening to consider the formation of a miniature rifle club, ' Mr Norman said a suitable range could be secured in the hall, but it would cost about £l4 to start the club. A membership fee of os and 2s 6d for juniors was suggested, and a preliminary estimate of* members reached 25. It was decided to form the club, and the following officials were elected: — Patron, Mr T. D. Burnett; president, Mr A. W. Russell; vice-presidents, the Rev. A. A. C. Lion, Messrs G. J. Johnstone, T. Rutherford, M. P. W. Blaythwayt, C, Urquhart and E. B. Horsey; captain, Mr J. M. Bruce; vice-captain, Mr A. Langridge; committee, Messrs H. Norman, E- E. Burgess, S. T. Goldsmith, P. Boucher, H, Boucher, H. Goldsmith and N. Hadler.
The captain, the secretary and Mr H. Norman were appointed a sub-com-mittee to go into the question of getting second-hand rifles. The Rev. A. A. Lion and Messrs W. Norman and S. T. Goldsmith were appointed to draw ux> a constitution. Mr M. Holland (secretary of the Methven Club) attended and explained the workings of his club. He was accorded a vote of thanks.
Monday evening was agreed upon as the meeting night.
