ORDER OF FORESTERS.
ACTIVITIES IN CANTERBURY. (Special to the "Guardian.") CHRISTCHTTRCH, This Day. An increase in the funds of £1322 4s Id is shown in the annual report of the Canterbury United District of the Ancient Order of Foresters, which will be presented to tne annual meeting; of the district to be held in the Belfasti Town Hall to-day. The funds are shown in the report to be as follows :-Court funds £73,811 14s 9d, district funds £21,525 19s 4d. The. district receipts for the year were £i9Ub 12s 6d and the expenditure £1(>»4: Ss sd, leaving a profit of £822 4s Id. The celebrations to mark the centenary of the Order had been most successful, and would do much to popularise the Order, although the financial side of them had shown a distinct loss. Membership had shown a decrease for the year of nine, in spite of the fact that 78 new members were initiated. Delegates from courts extending from Ashburton to Rangiora will attend the annual meeting, at which important court business will 'be discussed.
