AUCKLAND MARKETS. AUCKLAND, April 30. Pollard and Bran— I The Australian pollard market has continued firm, and as Dominion supplies are diminishing, southern millers have raised their price 5s per ton. No alteration has been made locally, but it may be assumed that the southern lead will be promptly followed here. The demand is good Bran is quiet and unchanged. Oats—The southern market lor teea oats is very firm, and, were it not that local requirements are small, the price would be forced! up. Current quotations are unchanged at 4s per bushel, through store, for B Gartons. Chaff—Chalf also tends to firmness, but here, as in oats, there is no change in local charges. Wheat While the southern wheat market is eteady and firm, several local dealers have been able to sell from well-bought stocks at pi ices slightly below Lyttelton parity, but they have now adjusted their rates on a. level with current market values Quotations range from 5s 9d to os 10d per bushel. Maize— Though prices for maize are unchanged at 4s 7d per bushel, the market is hesitant, due to the eauy advent of new season’s supplies. Potatoes —This week’s shipment of potatoes from the south is a small one, with the result that local rates are considerably above f.o.b. values. A shipment which arrived last week contained a fair proportion of lines showing indifferent quality, and as a consequence merchants are buying guardedly, taking their supplies ex the wharf after careful inspection.
