OBITUARY.

MR ROBERT HISLOP. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 30. A former general manager of the South British Insurance Company Mr Robert Hislop, lias , died at Brighton, England, aged 81. Mr Hislop joined the company, in Christchurch, in 1876. He was transferred to London in 1885, as resident secretary and in 1911 returned to Auc land as general manager. _ Upon the death of Mr James Kirker in 1914 Mr Hislop returned to London as manager, retiring in 1919. He was then appointed to the London directorate of the company.

MR ALFRED I. DU PONT. (United Press Association—Copyright) NEWORK, April 29. A telegram from Jacksonville (Florida) announces the death of Mr Alfred Irenee du Pont, formerly head of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, bankers, and lat&lv chairman of the Board of the Florida National Bank. Mr du Pont was 70 years of age.
