METHVEN TROTTING CLUB. MEETING NEXT MONDAY. The Methven Trotting Club’s special meeting, which was postponed from last Saturday on account ot heavy rain during .Friday night, will be held, next Monday, on the occasion of the King’s Silver Jubilee holiday. In this connection the stewards of the Club have issued the following statement:— “That in accordance with the Rules of Trotting, the stewards of the Methven Trotting Club intend postponing the meeting that was to have been held last Saturday from day to day until Monday, May 6, 1935, for reasons as follows: \ “That unable to race on Saturday, and being in consultation with the i\ew Zealand Trotting Conference who deferred their reply until Monday, and with continued wet weather oyer the week-end. rendered it impossible to race on Monday. “Owing to> not having received any official information until late Monday evening, and the track still not in racing condition, it was impossible to race on Tuesday. “On Wednesday trainers and owners leaving for Forbury. “Thursday, Forbury trots. “Friday, trainers and horses still away at Forbury. “Saturday, Forbury trots. “Therefore, the only possible racnng date is Monday, May 6, on which date the Club's stewards have unanimously decided to hold the meeting, starting the first race at 11.30 a.m."

APPEAL DISMISSED. JOCKEY’S DISQUALIFICATION. . (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 30. An appeal by the jockey, 0. W. Mclnally, against his disqualification for six months by the Judicial Committee of tlie Whangarei Racing Club Was dismissed by the Auckland District Committee. Mclnally rode the favourite, Gay Cockade, in the Ruatangata Handicap, in which he ran third. Disqualification was imposed on the ground that the horse was not run on his merits. The District Committee, after hearing Mclnally, found that he had failed to bring any evidence to sustain the grounds of his appeal, which was therefore dismissed. The deposit or fco' was ordered) to be returned to Mclnally.
