ABERDEEN ANGUS SALE.
EXCELLENT COMPETITION. • HASTINGS, April 29. Approximately 6700 guineas realisefat the first day of the Waiterenui Aberdeen Angus dispersal sale today, when 237 cows and xalyee weie offered. The top price obtained was 280 .suineas, while Other animals sow up to ISO guineas. The average price was in the vicinity of 30 guineas. The sale attracted considerable interest, with buyers present from »U parts of the Dominion and also from Australia. The competition throughout was excellent, with animals of the famous' Flower strain selling exceediiifflv well Heifere and bulls will be soM to-mor-row, when it is anticipated that further keen competition will be tortncoming.
NATIONAL INSURANCE. THE INTERIM DIVIDEND. DUNEDIN, April 29. The directors of the National Insurance Company of New Zealand have declared an interim dividend of 4d per share for the "half-year ended March 31. The dividend will be payable on May 15.
The dividend paid in May, 1934, was also 4d a share, and in November 6d a share, making 9d for the year. TM issued capital is £1,000,000 in £ shares paid up to 7s a share, or a total of £350,000. The dividend for a number of years has been 10.7 per cent. The reserves at the last annual_ balance on September 30 were £465,908, including reserves for current risks.

OVERSEAS QUOTATIONS. The New Zealand Dairy Producs Board has received the following market report from its London office* dated April 26: Butter. New Zealand—Salted 76-77 s (lastweek 76-775, last year 7G-71s; unsalted 78-80 s (78-80 s, 71-745), J deliveries, 1317 tons (1648, 1700) • in store, 3800 tons (4542, 10,791). The price for salted equals approximately 7.75 d f.o.b. The market is steady, and the New Zealand retail price unchanged at lOd. Australian—Salted 72-735, unsalted 73-745. South African—67s to 695. Banish—73s f.0.b., 95s spot. Dutch—Unsalted 70s to 725. Siberian—Salted 69s to 71s. Lithuanian—Unsalted 74s to 765. Market quiet. Danish retail price unchanged at Is. Cheese.
New Zealand—White 44£ s (last week 44-44 Js. last year 42£-435); coloured 45i-46s (45£-465, 425); deliveries 14,371 crates (14,09, 21,541); in store 155,306 crates <T42,215, 135,340). The market for white equals approximately 4.7 d f.0.b., and for coloured
4.83 d. Market is quiet. New Zealand retail price unchanged at 6d. Australian—White 42a to 435, colour--6 Canadian—White and coloured 60s to 62 English—Finest farmers' 82s to 90s, factory 38s to 445. . The board has also received the following advice from its agents in OanButter—New York 31 i cents, Montreal 23J cents.
