GAMING CHARGES.
HOTEL LICENSEE ACCUSED. DECISION RES E RVED. (Per Press Association}. CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. Thomas Ebenezer Robinson, licensee of Tattersall's Hotel pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of knowingly and wilfully allowing the private bar of his hotel to be used as a common gaming house. The prosecution followed the conviction of the barmaid, Helen Gumi, who 10 days ago was fined £4O and ordered to pay costs for using the private bar at the hotel as a common gaming house. Evidence for the prosecution stated that Robinson had been present when Miss Gunn took bets. This Robinson in evidence denied. Decision was reserved.
