TWO KILLED
’PLANE CRASHES IN ENGLAND. ENGINE STALLS AT 300 FEET. PASSENGER AND YOUNG PILOT. .(United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 28. Arthur Sebag Montefiore, piloting his own aeroplane with G. Steavenson as passenger, crashed from 300 feet owing to the engine stalling while he was attempting to land! at Maneton Aerodrome. Mr Steavenson was killed instantly. Mr Montefiore died in the hospital. He was a nephew of Lord Bearsted, and was aged 23. He married in 1932 Jacqueline Nathan, of Auckland. He leaves a son.
Mr Montefiore was a keen airman. He narrowly escaped from a blazing, ’plane when flying with his brother last July.
FOUR KILLED IN INDIA. ENGLISHMAN AND BENGALIS. (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) CALCUTTA, April 28. Three young Bengalis and one Englishman were killed when two Bengal Flying Club ’planes collided near Dumdum • Aerodrome while manoeuvring for a landing. .
