BIBLE CLASS CAMP.

PRESBYTERIAN YOUNG WOMEN. FIRST TO BE HELD IN COUNTY. The first Presbyterian Young Women's Bible Class Easter camp for the Ashburton County was held at Methven during the holidays. In past years, members of the Bible classes ofi the County have joined with other North Canterbury classes in annual Easter camps. The camp just concluded at Methven marks a forward step, as it was organised by the newlyformed Ashburton District Committee, and was attended by members of Ashburton district classes only.

Thirty members were in camp in the Methven High School, and a most, successful time was spent. At the camp concert on Saturday evening Mrs R. S. Watson (camp mother) welcomed the representatives and extended thanks to Methven friends for their gifts and help. The roll-call was responded to hy representatives -of the following classes; Hinds, Lagmhor, Lowcliffe, Methven, Rakaia, St. Andrew's (Ashburton) and Wakanui. Miss M. Finlay (the chief speaker), of China, also responded, as did Miss Thomson on behalf of the Presbyterian Women's Training Institute (Dunedin). The concert programme was as follows : Song, Miss Mary Ashford j chairwoman's remarks, Mrs It. 8. Watson; piano solo, Miss Hazel Hill ; recitation, Miss Mary Ashford; piano solo, Miss Violet Harwood; Chinese temple music and Chinese dress parade, "A visit from some Chinese -Friends," Miss Finlay; camp song (original) St. Andrew's Class; Beuben's Proposal, Methven Class; recitation, Elvira Dellow; Rakaia's item, Misses.McKie and Ashford; "Miss Honey's Treasure, Methven Class. The sports meeting was held on Monday, results being as follow: 50 Yards—Junior: Joyce Campbell 1, Bettv Carrie 2, Natalia Campbell 3. Senior:' Elsie Ford 1, Mary Ashford 2, Noaire Campbell 3. Walking Race-Junior: Betty Oume 1 Margot Joiner 2, Natalie Campbell 3. Senior: Ngaire Campbell 1, Mary Ashford 2, Elsie Ford 3. . Book on Head-Betty Ourne 1, Mary Ashford 2, Elvira Dellow 8. . Egg and Spoon—Betty Ourne 1, Joyce Campbell 2, Ngaire Campbell 3. Backwards Race-Betty Ourne 1, Crosse 2, Natalie Campbell 3. Siamese Race-Joyce Campbell and Betty Currie 1. Ngaire and Natalie Campbell 2, Elvira Dellow and Margot Joiner 3. ' . Women's Race—Mrs Colquhoun 1, Mrs Nichol 2, Mrs Ashford 3. The basketball match was won by team B.
