SENIOR GRAV3E AVERAGES. F. W. CUTLER HEADS BATTING. The final batting and bowling averages for the 1934-35 season in the Ashburton Cricket Association's competition were announced by the secretary (Mr S. M. Cassidy) this afternoon. „,-, F W Cutler, of the Methven Club, heads the batting list, a considerable way ahead of the next man, his average being 70.1. J. Varcoe, of the Ashburton Club, heads the bowling list with an average of 8.3. The secretary stated this afternoon that .Mr J. H.'Muirhead, of Lagmhor, has donated a sum of one guinea to tbe club represented by the player who heads the batting list in the senior grade This sum is intended to form

the nucleus of a fund for the presentation of a hat, or other equipment, to the successful hatsman. Details of the averages are . as follow:—■ Batting.
