In similar circumstances as in the. case of the Scots College boat in Sydney on April 5, a University racing eight. wa3 cut in halves by a ferry steamer during a practice run. The racing shell was carried into the path pf the ferry by the flood waters of the Maribymong River. The rowers, who were .rescued' by the crew of the ferry steamer were not injured, apart from the shock of the immersion.
