OFFICERS EXCHANGED
BRITISH AND GERMAN ARMIES.
RESUMPTION OF THE *SYSTEM
(United Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 23.
Coinciding witTT Britain condemning Germany's rearmament and denunciation of the Treaty of Versailles, and closely following German conscription, the British authorities have agreed to resume the pre-war custom of exchanging English and German army officers. Twenty officers from various British regiments and a corresponding number of Germans will receive six months commissions in each other's armies to enable them to learn the language. The German Government has long desired such a resumption, Herr Hitler strongly favouring it because it will enhance German military prestige abroad.
