FORGED CHEQUES.

LAD ADMITS EIGHT OFFENCES. (Per Plress Association). GTSBORNE, March 23. Eight charges of forgery and uttering involving a sum of £3l were admitted by a boy aged 16 in the Children's Court this morning. The police explained that the boy had stolen ten cheque forms from his employer, eight of which he filled in over the forged signature of his employer. He cashed them with various tradespeople. Two forms were still missing. The Magistrate remarked that he was surprised the bank had passed the cheques as the forged signatures bore no resemblance to the original. The accused was ordered to come up for sentence if called on within two years and was placed under the care of the Child Welfare Officer for that term.
