FOOTBALL.
TECHNICAL OLD BOYS’ CLUB. There was an attendance of about thirty at the annual meeting of the Technical Old Boys’ Football Club last evening. Mr G. Day presided. The annual report referred to the success of the past season and the financial statement showed a credit balance. As a mark of respect to the late Mr N. Scrimgeour, a former member of the club, those present stood in silence. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr R. J. Thompson; president Mr W. Corbett; secretary, Mr D. J. Marr; club captain, Mr R. G. Varcoe; vice-captain, Mr A. Dalton; coaches Messrs G. Day and F. S. David. Mr A. Thomson’s resignation was accepted with regret and it was agreed to record appreciation of the services he had given in the interests of the club for many years. , j It was decided to enter senior, junior and third grade teams in the Ashburton Rugby Union’s competitions. Practices will be held in the Technical School grounds on Tuesday evenings, commencing next week.
