KING'S JUBILEE.
THE THANKSCIVINC SERVICE, PPJVY COUNCIL'S DECISION. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, March G. The Privy Council has decided that the King's jubilee thanksgiving service on Monday, May 0, shall open with the first verse of the National Anthem, to be followed by the hymn "All People Who On Earth Do Dwell," and then Psalms 95 and 121, The lessons will be the first chapter of Joshua, verses 7, 8, and 9, and Revelation, chapter 21, verses 10, 11, 23 and 23. These will he followed by a short address and other hymns. Thereafter will come four prayers, some from his Majesty's accession service, including the one appealing for true fellowship and brotherly concord in the King's dominions and in all parts of the earth. Finally there will be the "To Deum" and other and the first and third verses of the National Anthem.
"The Times," in a leading article, praises the new thanksgiving collects written for the jubilee service and says that they are fully worthy to stand by the old prayers. Moreover, they mark a valuable step toward Christian unity, as the Free Churches are adopting them for their own services.— "Times" cable.
REVIEW OF FLEET IN JULY.
LONDON, March 6. As part of the celebration to mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the King's accession a review of the combined Home and Mediterranean Fleets will be held at Spithead in July. Afteif the icview it is hoped that the King, in his yacht Victoria and Albert, will lead the fleet to sea and watch tactical exercises.
For a week during May several ships of the Home Fleet will be present off Southend and some, it is hoped, will be moored in the Thames to allow the public to see them.
