ASHBURTON BAPTIST WOMEN. MRS L. P. BRYAN WELCOMED. The monthly meeting of the Ashburton branch or the Baptist Women's Missionary Union was held yesterday afternoon, when there was a large attendance." Mrs A. Beck presided. The meeting was arranged to welcome Mrs L. P. Bryan, and greetings were read from the Dominion secretary and from the Ashburton branch of the Methodist Women's Missionary Union. A welcome was expressed by several members, Mesdames S. Andrew and McLennan and Miss C. Jackson, and Mrs Bryan made response. Miss Marjorie Lewis rendered a sclo. Letters were read from the New Zealand Baptist field in East Bengal. At the close of the meeting afternoon tea was dispensed by members of .the social committee.
