CAR TURNED OVER.

TWO OR THREE SOMERSAULTS. COLLISION AT LYNDHURST. When two motor-cars collided at Maidens' corner, Lyndhurst, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, one of them was turned over two or three times by the force of the impact, but its occupants escaped serious injury. One, a new five-seater saloon, was driven by Mr J. T. Smith, of Ashburton, and the other by Mr W. Barrett, a meter-reader employed by the Ashburton Power Board.

Mr Smith's car performed several somersaults and came to rest on its left side, facing in the opposite direction to that in which it was proceeding. The panelling on the sides aui roof was extensively damaged, but the driver escaped serious injury. Mrs Smith, who was a passenger, suffered cuts and bruises. Thei front of Mr Barrett's car was damaged.
