RIFLE SHOOTING.
ASHBURTON DEFENCE CLUB. Two matches were completed by members of the Ashburton Defence Rifle Club on Saturday, when conditions were favourable. The first was of seven shots each at
300, 300 and 600 yards, and was won by H. Cromie with a t-otal of 98. D. Doak was second with 96, and D. Moore filled third place with 95. The next match was fired over 300 and 500 yards, with seven shots at each mound. The winner was N. Bauerle with a total of 95, H. Donaldson being second 1 with 94, and L. McNatty third with 92.
