At the South Canterbury Croquet Association’s tournament the final of the B grade championship singles was won by Mrs Nettleton (Redcliffs Club, Christchurch), v r lio gave a good exhibition of croquet in the concluding match. The A grade handicap singles was won by J. Thompson (Ashburton), and Mrs Richards was successful in the B grade. Ashburton results are: — A Grade Open championship: First round, J. 1 MELBOURNE, February 15. Australia again took an early lead over New Zealand in the croquet test to-day, winning the first three rubbers. Windsor defeated Mrs Caldow, Mrs Terry defeated Mrs Corbett, Miller defeated Stratton and Hartnell! defeated Miss Morrison. Australia, 3 rubbers, 7 games, 229 points; New Zealand, 1, 3, 128.
