Owing to continued fine weather, the hosing of gardens; m Wellington is at present general, causing a severe drop in water pressure in the mams, lje Corporation, in consequence, has notified that the by-laws controlling the use of hoses will be enforced. These necessitate water passing through a meter, and that hoses are not left unattended. The water supply itself is not threatened, but the water has to be pumped to the higher levels and Hhere is difficulty in maintaining the supply when hosing is unrestricted and gardens are dry.
