SYDNEY EXHIBITION.
PROPOSAL FOR 1938. DISCUSSION OF PROJECT. .Interest in the proposal to hold anexhihition iri Sydney on the occasionof the 150th anniversary of settlement in Australia in 1938 is extending, and a, statement by the Premier of New South Wales, Mr Stevens, is awaited. He has so much t.o engage his attention that an early statement is unlike- ' ly. It is all a question of money. There are so many other things that that are questions of money that the exhibition may not be arranged, says a correspondent., In view; of the interest i in the Melbourne Cup, many, people doubtless would say that the promoters of the proposed exhibition would be wise if a: great race meeting were promoted in association with it. The advfeates of a £1,000,000 lottery are always ready to rise with an argument in favour of their proposal. They would like a £1,000,000 lottery every year until the exhibition year", inclusive. Serious city men are not all opposed to such a lottery.
