BOWLING.

MATCHES PLAYED YESTERDAY. Progressive .tournaments were held on the Allenton and Ashburton bowling greens in gloriously fine weather yesterday. At Allenton some members of the Rakaia Club took part. The prizes were given by the president (Mr J. Templeton) that for the skips being won by R. Mathieson, while E. 0. Bathurst won the leads’ prize. Twenty players took part in the competition on the Ashburton gi%en. W. Christmas, H. Colquhoun, A. Christie, S'. Mitchell, W. R. Feathers ton, and Ei. W. Easterbrook tied with three games each for the skips’ event, and F. Sutton and D l . R. McCowatt tied with Jour games each for the leads’ competition.
