PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ashburton Borough/Council >vill at a Special Meeting of.the Council to he held in the Borough Council Chambers, Havelock Street, Ashburton; at 7.30 p.m., on MONDAY, 25th June, 1934, MAKE and LEVY the following RATES for the Year commencing Ist April, 1934, and ending 31st March, 1933. such Rates to be Payable in One Sum at' the Council Offices on the Ist day of July, 1934. ,A GENERAL RATE, under Section 77 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,” of One Shilling and Tenpence (1/10) in the £ of the whole- of the rateable property within the Borough on the basis of the Annual Values. WATER RATES. (a) On all land and buildings in the original Borough Area to which water is supplied, a uniform rate of 5d in the £ on the Annual Values as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force. (b) On all land and buildings in . the Original Borough Area to which , water can he, but is not supplied, situated within one hundred yards from any part of the water-works and on buildings used as stores, warehouses, or for any purpose other than dwelling houses, one-half of the rate! mentioned in (a). (c) On all land and buildings m the Netherby and Hampstead Areas ot the Borough to which water is supplied, a uniform rate of 2d in the £ on the Annual Values as appearing on the Valuation Roll for the time being in force. That of the ANNUALLY REOLKRING SPECIAL RATE of One Shilling and One-third of a Penny (1/0 l-3d) in the £ on the annual rateable values on all rateable properties in the BOROUGH OF ASHBURTON as at 17th March, 1920, for the purpose of providing interest and sinking- fund on special loans of £35,000 and £looo' for Drainage and Sanitation amounts up to Nine Pence (9d) in the £ on the said values will he payable as aforesaid. SANITATION FEES. Notice is Also Given, that under Section 89 of “The Municipal Corporation Act, 1920,” a uniform foe of Twenty Shillings (20/-) per pan for the removal of JiTghtsoil for the period Ist April, 1934 and ending 31st March, 1935, will bo made and charged in the Borough and shall he payable on tne Ist day of.
