"When entries for the Centenary air ya.ce from London to Melbourne for the prize offered by Sir Macpherson. Robertson closed at noon to-day, 42 machines had entered, and it is expccied that additional entries lodged in LonV don will be received. The race which will start on October 20, is divided into two sections, a handicap and a speed event. Many of the speed machines have also entered for the handicap race. The prizes for the speed race are:-- First £IO,OOO and gold cup,' second £ISOO, third £SOO. The prizes for the handicap race are: First £2OOO, second £IOOO. Handicaps will be based to some extent on the payload that the machines carry. A cabled entry from Mr 3- Kirsten for tile handicap section was received • from New Zealand in the lastminute rush.
