LEGISLATURE TAKES STEPS.

AUTHORITY TO GOVERNOR. (United Press Association —Copyright) FRANKFURT (Kentucky), Jan. 25. The Legislature passed a resolution to-day authorising the Governor to take steps to prevent lynching. This followed the lynching late last night of Alex Sc-ott, a young negro, who was charged with fatally heating Alex Johnson, a "white coalminer. Over 30 masked men led a mob of 300 to the gaol, dragged Scott out and hanged him on a tree.
