Burry, best 16d to 16£d, average 14d to 16d, inferior 12d to 13d. Broken and pieces, best to 20d, good 16|d to I7jd, average 14jd to 15-Jd. Lambs, best to 18£d, good lid to 12d, average 8d to 9d. Comebacks, best 19Jd, good 16d to 19d, average 14d to lad. Crossbreds, best to 20|d, fine 14d to 17d, medium lOd to lid, coarse 5d to 6d.

MELBOURNE WOOL SALES.

(Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The sales .yesterday showed a further hardening tendency in prices. Competition was exceptionally keen in the comeback crossbred, section and practically all was taken by Japan at prices equal to the highest point of the season. Approximately 96 per cent of the 8228 bales offered were sold. The best price of the day was 23d per lb for merino.

PIGS AND POULTRY. PRICES AT TO-DAY'S SALES. Following are the ranges of prices at, the pig and poultry sales held in Ashburton to-day:— pigs—Raconers 375, porkers 26s bcl, stores 18s to 20s, weaners and slips 6s to 14s. „ n 1 Poultry—Hens Is lOd to 5s 2d, roosters 2s lOd, ducks 2s 7d.
