A PROTEST ENDORSED. (Special to the “Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 11. On a party division to-night; the City Council decided to support a resolution of protest against .the present high exchange rate. The resolution had been passed by a public meeting of Auckland ratepayers and was forwarded with a request for support. The motion was carried on the Mayor’s casting verte.
