DOMINION PRODUCE. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated September 9, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: Tallow—No auction this week. Market quiet and tendency easier for forward shipment. Spot quotations nominally unchanged. Eggs—Market weak. English, national pack 14s 6d to 18s 6d, ordinary pack 15s 6d to 16s -; Danish 11s to 13s, Australian, nominal, 11s fid to 12s fid. Apples—Trade slow at about Is below last week’s rates.

There was excited bidding at the wool sales to-day 7. Early prices for greasy 7 merino soared to 21 £d.
FALL IN PRICE OF GOLD.

A sharp fall of Is occurred in the price of gold to-day. At £6 9s 2-£d a fine ounce it is at a premium of 4d over the franc.
The feature of yesterday’s bullion market was the offering of the unusually large amount -.of £820,000 in bar gold, all of which was sold, a lai;ge proportion being bought on Continental account. The large amounts of gold being offered in the bullion market are partly explained by the resale at a profit of previous purchases of the metal.—British Official Wireless.
