A SPLENDID PERFORMANCE 58 BREAKS OFF FIRST BARREL What is probably a record performance for Canterbury this season was put up by A. A McLeod at the Metiiven Gun Club’s monthly .shoot on Saturday. Putting on the possible in a six bird shoot McLeod followed up with a possible in the Past Presidents’ Cup match of 14 mirds. He continued in a shoot off in tho latter match, to win on the 28th round. Tills match was followed by another 14 birds match for Teacher’s Cup, in which McLeod broke another 10 birds before making a miss, a total of 58* breaks, all off .the first barrel. In addition, McLeod won the Freeman Cup for the second time in the seventeen shoots held and in so doing defeated two other competitors who were tieing with him, with three wins each. McLeod was warmly congratulated by the president of the club (Mr S. H. Anderson) and the donor (Mr H. J. Freeman) and members on his performance.''
