SCRUB CLEARING.

WORK REFUSED BY UNEMPLOYED. (Per Press Association). WAIPUKURAU, August 29. A special meeting of the Waipukurau Unemployment and Employed Association, at which over 60 were present, passed a resolution: "That this meeting unanimously refuse as a body to recommend members to accept (the work offered by the Unemployment Board as scrub clearing on Aohanga station. We also strongly resent the threat accompanying the notice which, if carried out, is tantamount to taking necessary sustenance from respectable men, their wives and children." Aohanga is in the Akitio coastal area about 100 mileg from Waipukurau, via Pahiatua.
