BUSH FIRE EXTINGUISHED KAIKOURA FARMS MENACES) (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Heavv rain falling in the Kaikoura district' last evening extinguished the bush Are that for three days had been burning on a mile and a-half front, menacing five farms. Much fencing has been destroyed and considerable stock had to be removed yesterday afternoon when a strong gale the flames.
