SILVER OF VALUE OF £Bl3. SEARCH BY DETECTIVES ENDS. CHARGE OF THEFT INVOLVED. (Per Press Association). WANGANUI, This Day. Three leather bags containing silver to the value of £Bl3, which disappeared from a taxi on. Sunday, June 4, were discovered yesterday among isome scrub on the roadside on the Great North road, 11 miles north of Wanganui.
Detectives have been diligently searching for the last week. John Ralph Penny, a taximan, who brought William Toomey, owner of the silver from Auckland, is at present on remand charged with theft.
