Britain's fastest mail carrier, a twinengined Boulton and Paul 'plane, built to the order of the Air Ministry, made a successful demonstration flight at Norwich.
The machine is designed for Empire air routes, and is capable, of 1000 miles non-stop flight at 150 miles an hour at half throttle and 200 at top speed. Mails may be sorted en route and dropped or picked up without landing. Storage is provided for a thousand pounds of mail. It is understood that a test flight to Australia is contemplated. The machine could reach Cape Town in three days and Darwin in under seven.
STAG LANE AERODROME.
SOLD FOR BUILDING; SITES
LONDON, June 16
The "Daily Chronicle" says De Haviland and Co. have sold the Stag Lane aerodrome of 100 acres for £IOO,OOO for a site for twelve hundred houses, the construction of which will employ 2000 men for thirteen months. De Havilands will (retain the Stag Lane Factory, but will transfer their flying to Hatfield.
