COMMITTED FOR TRIAL

CHARGE OF INFANTICIDE. (Per Press Association). NEW PLYMOUTH, June 14. A charge of murdering her newlyborn female child at Tnglewood on May 16, and disposing of the body on the same date with intent to conceal its birth, was laid against Bella Thompson, a 20-year-old Maori woman in the Inglewood Court yesterday. According to the evidence of a constable, the baby was found buried and wrapped in sacks. The accused allegedly admitted the birth of the child, after first denying it. She reserved her defence, and was committed for trial.. The coroner postponed his decision at the inquest until after the Supreme Court trial.
