ARTS AND CRAFTS.

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE DISPLAY. ASHBURTON SUCCESSES. An exhibition of arts, crafts and antiques' was held at Timaru yesterday under the auspices of the South Canterbury Federation of Women’s Institutes, and considerable interest was taken in the display. There are upwards of sixty institutes in the Federation, and a majority of these were represented. The Federation embraces an area from the Waitaki river to Ashburton, and many County exhibitors gained awards. The successful ones were:—

Wool Section. Hug (manufactured wool) —Mrs G M. Breeze (Ashburton) 2.
