DISABLED MEN
DOMINION-WIDE PLAN. NEW ORGANISATION FORMED. (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, April tf. Arrangements for the formation of an incorporated body called the Soldiers' Re-establishment League to administer the funds available for finding work for disabled soldiers were made at a conference of Wellington representatives of Refiabilitation Advisory Committees in the various, centres and the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association. From the proceeds of an art union in August, the association received £7043 for the assistance of ex-servicemen who are drawing an economic pension. The administration of this will be undertaken by the league. The Dominion headquarters of the league will control and administer all moneys donated for the purpose of creating employment for ex-servicemen and branches will investigate and suggest schemes for utilising the earning ability of the men. The Wellington branch has started a scheme similar to that already in existence in Christchurch, whereby some 30 disabled men are making toys, novelties and various articles, for the disposal of which it is intended to open a shop.
