STACKING CONTEST

THE AWARDS AT METHVEN. MR CHAMBERS WINS THE CUP. The annual stacking competition under the auspices of tlie Methven A. and P. Association was judged yesterday. Prizes are awarded for the best stack of wheat and the best stack of oats, while a cup donated by Mr O. A. Campion is awarded for the most points in both classes. The entries were not as numerous as in previous yehrs, but the stacking was of an exceptionally high standard. The remarks of the judge (Mr J. Fraser, of Lincoln Agricultural College) were very complimentary to the competitors. The cup was won by B. R. Chambers, with 193 points, J. E. Carr and A. Goodwin, 191 points, were equal second. Points were given respectively as follow: Sh&nk 10, eave 10, head 20, security 50, appearance 10; total 100. Details are as follow:
