FINE CONDITIONS AGAIN. Although the sky became very heavily overcast in Ashburton yesterday afternoon, no rain was experienced and the night was fine but cold. The barometer at the Domain weather station recorded a minimum: temperature of 39 degrees during the night which is the lowest since the beginning of .the month. The maximum shade temperature yesterday was 75.6 degrees. - ,The sun has shene bright]y in a practically clear sky ail day to-day and with only a light wind from an easterly direction, condition out-of-doors were pleasant. The barometric pressure . at 9.30 o'clock this morning was 29.90 inches, compared with 29.64 inches yesterday morning and 29.97 inches on Monday. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. WELLINGTON, This D'ay. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding .the.weather.:—. General inference: A slight anticyclone covers New Zealand, but a shallow westerly depression is located over the Western Tasman Sea. The forecast for, the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:—■ Southerly winds at first in Marlborough, but northerlies gradually becoming general. Weather : Fine and becoming milder. Seas: Smooth to moderate.
