Metropolitan took a hand, and attacked, but excellent defence held them at bay until nearly half-time, when they scored twice, making the half-time score:—New Zealand 2, Metropolitan 2. The Metropolitan forwards showed better stick work after tho interval, but again found the New Zcalanders' defence solid. Then both sides scored a goal, the New Zealanders' being from a penalty corner. Wellbourne put his side in front with a scorching shot from the edge of the circle. Not long afterwards Hogg, for the locals, equalised.
The outstanding New Zealanders were Munro," Joblin, Turbitt and Wellbourne.
