Mr H. G. Gresham, of Otago University, son of Mr H. G. Gresham, for. ttierly of Ashburton, has .graduated 8.D.5., and was awarded by School.the gold medal for orthodontics. Dr J. H. North, formerly of the staff of the Auckland Hospital, son of ohe Rev. J. J. North, of the Baptist College, has secured his fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons, .London. '' Pastor James Crawford, the president of the Christchurch Ministers' Association, was elected chairman of the Canterbury and Westland Auxiliary or the British and Foreign Bible Society at the first meeting of the new executive. Mr Walter Newton, who has been secretary to the Labour Department since March, 1930, has retired on superannuation. The department is now under the control of the Commissioner of Unemployment (Mr Godfrey), says a Wellington Press Association telegram. Mr A. H. Sine! (manager of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Shipping Company), has received advice of his appointment to the position of traffic manager for New Zealand, and local manager of the company s Wellington branch (says a Press Association telegram). Mr D. Jones, chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, is to be entertained at a luncheon; at Christchurch on June 22 (Mr Jones's, itinerary permitting) by the Canterbury Division of the New Zealand Political Reform League, prior to his leaving for the Ottawa "Conference. An invitation is being extended to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) to be present, besides representatives of the Canterbury farming and commercial interests.
