CRIME IN UNITED STATES. AN APPALLING RECORD. LONG LIST FOR ONE DAY. (United Press Association—Copyright) NEAV YORK, May 6. An exceptional nupiber of murders and sensational homicides are included in to-day’s list of crimes with violence which have been reported from all over tfhe nation. A 20-year-old gunman killed a policeman in a dance hall. A girl then robbed a. bank, and is believed to have shot her 16-year-old sweetheart. A man and a girl were found killed in New Jersey, hut there was no clue as to their murderers. From Akron, Ohio, is reported the murder with an axe of a little girl by an apparently maniacal woman. At Westfield, Massachusetts, the police arrested a respected church organist for the brutal “life insurance murder” of a friend.

The bodies of five persons were discovered in a Mississippi farmhouse, presumably all having been killed by the father of the family. A negro'servant killed a. banker and his wife in the same State. A young girl was unaccountably shot on a Cincinnati street, and died tonight. The police of New York shot two criminal suspects and two gangsters, and killed one of their companions.
