METHVEN SHOW

WELL-CONDUCTED EXHIBITION.

THE CONCLUDING AWARDS. The Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association is to be congratulated on; the success of its nineteenth annual exhibition, held on the Methven Showgrounds on Saturday. In every department it was successful, and patrons, who attended in huge numbers from most centres in Canterbury, saw some excellent exhibits of live stock and farm tlnd dairy produce, with other sections that make up the usual showcatalogue. Arrangements were well in., hand, and the show went through without a hitch. The judges were kept busily at work, and the catalogue was practically disposed of by four o'clock. The ring events attracted the greater part of the attention of patrons, and special interest centred in the hunting events in which many excellent hunters were seen in action. \ Several side shows were on the grounds, and these kept a section of the crowd amused throughout the afternoon. ' The Ashburton Pipe Band was in attendance, and besides playing a number of selections, led the parade of prize-winning stock-.
