A NEW WORLD’S RECORD. SYDNEY, Nov. 9. At the Ashfielcl Autodrome, T. Benstead beat the New Zealand motorcycle, racer Spencer Stratton in the Master Match race, of two laps. Time, 35secs. In the Ashfield Cup, of four laps, V. Bennett beat C. Clifton, in; lmin 14sec, clipping 2 2-oscc off Stratton s world’s record. . . In the Autodrome Championship, of three laps, O. Moore heat Stratton. Time, 52 4-ssecs. . THE ASHBURTON CLUB. There was a good muster of members of the Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club at the annual grass hill-climb held during the week-end at the property of Mr T. H. Stevenson at Springburn. The climb was difficult, the track during the early part of the day being slippery. The results were: — Club Championship—S. Preday (8.5. A.) and G. Healey (Ariel), equal, 1; T. H. Farley . Ariel), 3. Preddy and Healey tied at 8 2-ssec, and m the run-off Preddy won. Points for Preddy Cup (non-trade
riders)—G. Healey 8, T. H. Farley 5, G. McMurchy 3. Novice Event (side-valve machines) —G. McMurchy (8.5. A.) 1, I). K. MeKendry (H.D.) 2. Under 350 c.c.—G. McMurchy (8.5.
